A wine brand rooted in moderation…

What is Stoic Wines?

“Stoic Wines is a Colorado Springs home winery. Here at Stoic Wines, we believe good wine goes hand-in-hand with good thoughts. We are proponents of enlightened thinking, self-discovery, and the pursuit of happiness. Our wines taste best at book club, shared with an older and wiser friend or relative (as we soak in their guidance), drank while journaling, enjoyed with a good book, or simply sipped with the company of those who you love. (Please drink responsibly.)

I believe that in the US we have a toxic relationship with alcohol. It is my goal to help reverse this notion that the substance is evil. What is evil is the abuse of the substance. That is why I chose to name the winery “Stoic Wines.” Stoicism touts those virtues which can aid a person in becoming the best version of themselves. It is hard to abuse something when you are at your best.

Furthermore, some of my fondest memories involve wine in some way. I want to help people to see wine the way I do: a beautiful mix of history, culture, farming, science, family, art, and discovery.”

When designing for Stoic Wines I knew that I needed to create a brand which merged both classic and contemporary design styles to bring the philosophy into the modern age. The goal for this wine was to create a three-dimensional composition which would both stand out from and enhance any wine cellar, booze-pile, liquor cabinet, or liquor shelf. By using saturated analogous colors and drawing inspiration from styles across decades, I did just that.
